Stephen E. Buckley, M.D.

Dr. Stephen Early Buckley MD is a native of Mississippi and joined Hattiesburg GI Associates in 1997. He received a Bachelor of Science with a major in Polymer Science from the University of Southern Mississippi. He received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. After medical school, he attended the University of Miami at Jackson Memorial Hospital for completion of his internship. He then completed his internal medicine residency, a year as Chief Resident, and his Fellowship in Gastroenterology at the University of South Alabama. Dr. Buckley is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology and the Mississippi Medical Association.

He has published in Contemporary Internal Medicine, Digestive Diseases and Sciences and the American Journal of Gastroenterology. Dr. Buckley has interests in all areas of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. He has staff privileges to practice at Wesley Medical Center.

Dr. Buckley is married to Mrs. Lynette Maples Buckley and they have two wonderful children, Max and Iris. He enjoys spending time with his family, all sports and antique car shows.

William Farmer, D.O.

BS in Biology, Mississippi College, 1998.  DO, University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City, MO, 2002.

American Board of Internal Medicine Certified since 2005. Gastroenterology Board Certified since 2008.

Dr. Farmer is a native of Clinton, Mississippi, where he grew up the youngest of 5 sons.  Upon graduation from Clinton High School, Dr. Farmer remained in Clinton and attended Mississippi College where he played varsity soccer and completed his pre-med work.  After graduation from Mississippi College, he enrolled at the University Of Health Sciences College Of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City, Missouri.  Once he received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from UHS-COM, he began his medical training in Internal Medicine at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama.  While an Internal Medicine resident he was selected by his peers as the Best Intern, as well as Best Resident.  When his Internal Medicine studies were complete, Dr. Farmer remained at the University of South Alabama to begin his study of Gastroenterology.  He completed his Gastroenterology fellowship in 2008 and since that time he and his family have made Hattiesburg their home.

Dr. Farmer is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterology Association, the American Society of Gastroenterology, and the Mississippi State Medical Association.  He is a member of the medical staff at Wesley Medical Center in Hattiesburg where he currently serves as President of the Medical Staff.  Dr. Farmer is currently board certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.  His interests in the field of Gastroenterology include colon cancer screening, chronic liver disease, and diagnosis and treatment of perianal disease including hemorrhoids.  He is the only Gastroenterology physician in Mississippi currently performing non-surgical ablation of internal hemorrhoids.

During his free time Dr. Farmer enjoys spending time with his family – wife Shae and children Stratton, Emerson, and Reynolds.  Their time is spent hunting, fishing, and playing soccer and baseball in the Hattiesburg area.  He is a member of Temple Baptist Church in Hattiesburg.

H. Creed Fox, M.D.

A native of Mississippi, Dr. Henry Creed Fox is proud to call the Magnolia state his home.  Born and raised in Clarksdale, in the heart of the Delta, he attended the University of Mississippi where he graduated cum laude with a BA in chemistry.  He received his MD degree from the University of Mississippi in Jackson, MS in 1985.  Dr. Fox did his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Tennessee Center for the Health Sciences (UTCHS) in Memphis, TN where he served as Chief Medicine Resident at the City of Memphis Hospital for one year.  After achieving lifetime board certification as a Diplomat in Internal Medicine, Dr. Fox continued his training at UTCHS by completing a fellowship in Gastroenterology in June of 1991, shortly before moving to Hattiesburg that same year.

Dr. Fox started a solo Gastroenterology practice in Hattiesburg in 1991, which has now become Hattiesburg GI Associates, PLLC.  Dr. Fox has interests in all aspects of Gastroenterology and Hepatology including but not limited to GERD, ulcer disease, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, IBS, Colorectal Cancer, Hepatitis C and diseases of the pancreas and liver.  He is experienced in all endoscopic procedures including upper GI endoscopy (EGD), including dilation of strictures and management of gastrointestinal bleeding, colonoscopy, diagnostic and therapeutic ERCP.

Dr. Fox is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine.  He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology and currently has staff privileges at Wesley Medical Center where he serves on the Physician Leadership Committee and as a member of the Board of Trustees. In addition, he has served as Chairman of Physician Education for over ten years.

A family man and loving husband, Dr. Fox considers himself blessed to be the father of three children and to be able to call Connie his bride for over twenty-eight years.  He and his wife are both very active members of First Baptist Church of Hattiesburg where he serves as Deacon.  His interests outside of medicine include family, hunting, golf and flying.  Dr. Fox is an instrument rated pilot with over two thousand hours of flying experience.

C. Troy Morrissette, M.D.

Dr. Troy Morrissette was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee. He attended Briarcrest Baptist High School where he lettered in football and track. After graduating from Memphis State University with a BS in Vertebrate Zoology, Dr. Morrissette attended medical school at the University of Tennessee where he completed his Internal Medicine residency in 1990 and his fellowship in Gastroenterology in 1992. He served as the Chief Gastroenterology Fellow during his fellowship training. Dr. Morrissette is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. After training with Dr. Fox at the University of Tennessee, he moved to Hattiesburg to continue their professional relationship in private practice.

Dr. Morrissette is a member of the American Medical Association, the Mississippi State Medical Association, and the American College of Gastroenterology. He performed duties as the Chairman of the Board of HubHealth, an Independent Practice Association. He has served as Chairman of Nutrition, Chairman of Internal Medicine, President of the Medical Staff, and a member of the Board of Trustees at Wesley Medical Center. He is privileged to practice at Wesley Medical Center. His practice encompasses all aspects of gastrointestinal disease and liver disease.

Dr. Morrissette met his wife, Mrs. Natalie Bray Morrissette, at Bellevue Baptist Church in Memphis, and they have been married for 19 years. They feel very blessed to have two daughters, Summer and Halle, who attend Presbyterian Christian School. He and his family have been members of the First Baptist Church of Hattiesburg where he was called to serve as a deacon. Dr. Morrissette enjoys many activities outside of his professional career but none as much as the time he spends with his family.
